Painted Plastic Dollar Store Easter Eggs-Casa Watkins

These dollar store plastic Easter eggs were painted gold and accented using lace stickers. This is a great nap time project and easy to do.
I only wanted three eggs for this project, but the dollar store bag comes with so many more. You can use all sorts of background colors to make a bundle of painted eggs. How great would the eggs look in blue! Or, you can make a mix of blue and gold painted eggs.

Why Lemon Poundcake is more tempting than Cinnamon rolls!-Cherishing A Sweet Life

When it came to what to bake for our upcoming Easter lunch or dinner,
I knew, without a shadow of a doubt it had to be made with lemons.

Why I stopped praying for patience-My Love for Words

I used to think that by praying for patience, I would be given patience. I would wake up one morning with an overflowing amount of peace and tolerance, able to remain sweet and level headed despite whatever was thrown my way. Unfortunately, that day has yet to come… just ask my family.

How to become an undercover prayer warrior-Penny A. Zeller

After Christian historical romance, Christian suspense is my favorite genre. Especially when characters go undercover and the tension builds as covert operations are planned to catch the bad guys.

Bunny Bark-This Silly Girl's Life
I’m sure you have seen all kinds of “barks” floating around. My friend Parrish, makes them a lot and I always love how hers comes out! So, I thought I’d give it a go and…. well now I’m addicted!

Make a Cute Bunny Ear Headband in Minutes-Homemaking Hacks

You don’t even need glue for this one, which is a bonus. While I love the power of a good glue, sometimes it’s fun to avoid getting sticky. Somehow I always get some on my fingers. One time, I actually managed to get glitter glued to every single one of my fingers. Yup!
Here is all you need to make these cute bunny ears:

How to Make a China Tea Cup Wreath-Homemaking Hacks

I made a tea cup wreath this morning to hang in our new tea room. I have made several of these wreaths over the years and sold them.....now I only make them for myself. Since I no longer sell them, I wanted to share how I make them with my blogging friends

Nutella Swirled Banana Bread-2 Cookin' Mamas

I couldn’t wait to get around to sharing this delicious banana bread with you. My friend and neighbor Melanie brought this over during the Christmas season and everyone went wild over it. People usually think of having banana bread for breakfast or a mid-morning snack but this one can easily be served as a rich decadent dessert. It is deliciously moist and made all the better by the thick swirls of Nutella running through it. However, the real piece de resistance was the layer of thick rich chocolate icing that puts it over the top and into the “oh, I’ve got to have it” dessert category.

Homemade Country-Style Buttermilk Biscuits-Taylor-Made Homestead

We don’t eat biscuits often but RancherMan loves biscuits and gravy.  I prefer my biscuits with homemade jam thank you very much but who am I to judge??  I’ve struggled with biscuit recipes since, well, FOREVER – no matter what guaranteed recipe I try the biscuits always seem heavy and dry. But as is tradition I promised to make RancherMan whatever he wanted for his birthday breakfast recently and his request was (of course) homemade biscuits and gravy, along with a generous supply of thick-cut heavily peppered crispy bacon.  Back to my recipe I went with a sigh – he deserved better.  My recipe just didn’t seem to have enough flavor last time I made it, and the biscuits were heavy and dry.  But determined to provide my beloved RancherMan the meal he requested and deserved, I tweaked the recipe and the biscuits turned out absolutely DELICIOUS.  Flavorful, moist and fluffy.  EUREKA!

Spring Sherbet Cookie Sandwiches-Upstate Ramblings

Spring and Easter are perfect times for entertaining! This spring I made these bright and cheerful Spring Sherbet Cookie Sandwiches for a colorful snack to have on hand for feeding company.

Monster Milkshake-Three kids and a fish

Lately, our family has been craving milkshakes! These M and M's Crispy are great straight from the small bag for a little sweet treat, and buying the larger bag is a great addition to our Monster M and M's Crispy Milkshake! Creamy ice cream, rich fudge topping, swirled with M and M's Crispy and chocolate chunks and topped with fresh whipped cream and more M and M's Crispy make this milkshake one award winning way to enjoy yourself!

What can I make from a pair of jeans? This week's clothes upcycle-Creating my way to Success

For this week's clothes upcycle for my challenge,

Easy Criss-Cross Purse Pattern-Princess and Her Cowboys

A few months ago, we went to Hawaii for Cowboy’s work (Little Roper and I tagged along). It was a ton of fun and we set out on different adventures every morning. There is a fun swap meet, or flea market, that goes around the entire football stadium but it’s only open on certain days. We went through it on one of the days and were able to get a whole bunch of souvenirs at a fraction of what some of the other stores were charging. One of my favorites was my purse. It’s kind of like a hobo bag but it has 3 different sections from how the fabrics criss-cross over each other. I figured I could make something like that so I went to it.

YSL Chinese New Year Pallette Review and Swatches-Beauty Isles

EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL SHOWER MELTS-This Roller Coaster Called Life
I don’t know about you, but my nose has been stuffy all winter long. Not much has worked to clear it, but inhaling eucalyptus or Vick’s usually does the trick. Here is an easy recipe for Eucalyptus Essential Oil Shower Melts to help clear the nose and to help make it easier to breathe. {Note: To appease the FDA, I’m not saying that eucalyptus will help everything, nor is it a cure-all. Each person reacts differently.}

10 Christ Centered Easter Traditions-Lou Lou Girls
I remember as a kid hearing adults talk about how "commercialism is taking over Holidays" and "Religion is getting forgotten". I always thought they were just jealous that they didn't get to do the activities like hunt for Easter eggs or open as many presents. Now that I have a child of my own though, I completely understand where they were coming from.

Hello! Easter is just around the corner and I’ve been working on a lot of Easter projects. Today I’m showing you a set of gold eggs I decorated that was inspired by Kate Spade’s style. I mean, who doesn’t like bold designs, gold, glitter, confetti, stripes and chevron?

While some wildflowers are strong and hardy, withstanding the elements with grace, some of them are far more delicate.
Bloodroot is one of them. You have to be diligent to visit its home frequently if you want to view it fresh and unblemished by wind or rain or a misplaced step.
Easter is coming. It’s as simple as that. It doesn’t matter if there is still several feet of snow on the ground. It doesn’t matter if it’s 20 degrees. It doesn’t matter what the heck that groundhog said last month. I never believe that little guy anyway. It’s coming. Plain and simple.

I am beyond excited to be starting a new segment on my blog called Blossom's Book Shelf! There is nothing that I love more than curling up on the couch with a warm cup of tea to read a great book. When I am on the lookout for my next great new read, it can be so hard to choose from all the books sitting on a library shelf. That's why I just love browsing through book blogs to see what other readers have enjoyed. I really look forward to sharing my new favorite reads with you guys, so all you bookworms like me out there, make sure you stay tuned.

Today, I am going to share more of our Dining Room with you.

Keeping Your Dollars: Saving On Groceries-~Taylor-Made Homestead~
In keeping with our theme of keeping those hard-earned dollars in your pocket where they belong, today we’re looking at trimming waste from your grocery budget. We all may have different reasons for wanting to cut back – maybe a large unexpected bill needs to be paid, maybe you’re saving up for a new home or car, or maybe there’s too much month and just not quite enough money to get to the end of it. For me the motivation was a desire to have a lighter footprint and convenience foods came with a shocking amount of over-packaged waste. It’s interesting though that my desire to have a lighter footprint also saved substantial amounts of money from our grocery budget.

Lemon Cupcakes with Raspberry Frosting-Cake Craft Create

It's the middle of March; Spring is right around the corner and these cupcakes capture the season perfectly. Lemon + raspberry = delicious!

15 Signs for Moms That They Might Need a Day Off
HUFFPOST

Because being a stay-at-home mom is 24/7/365, I occasionally find myself going a little crazy. While I love staying home with my girls, most of the time, I do have moments where I question my sanity and my decision to be a stay-at-home mom. These moments usually occur on the days when both of my little girls meltdown constantly, and my husband works overtime.

Chocolate Chocolate-Chip Bundt Cake {contributor Celeste}-This Silly Girl's Life

I’m not one of those die-hard, gotta-have-it chocolate lovers, don’t get me wrong, I love chocolate, I’m just not over the top about it. However, there are times when I crave big bold chocolate flavor, and this cake fits the bill.

Lemon Tassies – It’s The Little Things-Make Mine Lemon

These are delicious with or without Improved Lemon Curd. If you are making these for company I would suggest using a piping bag for a more appealing presentation. The next time I make these I will weigh the dough and divide by 24 for a more even distribution of the crust.

5 Natural Ways to Support Your Immune System-Happy Mothering

Fortunately, over the years, I have learned some tips and tricks for naturally supporting our immune systems. Experience has shown that as long as we get in front of it and take steps to boost our immune systems, we’re more likely to stay healthy, even when we’ve been exposed to a multitude of germs.

Decorating With Old Windows-Little Brags

I decided to put together another collage for you, this time on inspiration on
"HOW TO DECORATE WITH OLD WINDOWS". So here ya go sweets...
I know you will be inspired by all the talented bloggers out there....I know my head is
still spinning from putting the collage together!

With Easter falling so early in April this year I can’t decide whether to work on St. Patrick’s Day projects or Easter projects. I’ve been flipping back and forth between the two with reckless abandon!

Orange Juice Cake-With A Blast

I love absolutely everything about this Orange Juice Cake ! It is quick and easy to start with, which is always a big bonus point in my book.
The cake is super moist and bursting with Orange flavor. There is really no need for anything more than the glaze.
A slice {or three!} of this cake, with a nice cup of tea, or coffee and you have a delicious tea time treat.

5 Common Blogging Mistakes That I Made-Thrifty Girl. Big Dreams

I have been a blogger on and off for about 3 years and this last ‘break’ that I took I realized some of the mistakes that I had been making and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.

After my first foray into French Toast, I decided my life needs more.
So, I decided to develop my own recipe. And since these Banana Caramel Cupcakes were so popular last year, I knew that I had to try that combination along with crisp, crunchy fried bread.
Oh my word. What a taste sensation. As soon as OH and I bit into a big ol’ bit we both went “OMG this is insane!!”

Despite living in close proximity to Ireland for a third of my life, and despite my many tries, I’ve never quite found a taste for Guinness. Something about its deep earthy taste reminds me of blood. Appetizing, no? Maybe that’s why they say its so good for anemia. Who knows? But I can tell you that I’ve offended a lot of people with my distaste for the beverage, and I keep trying to find a way to make it delicious.

My latest quilt pattern is called Windmills at Night.  I designed it specifically for beginning quilters, using pre-cut fabric strips called “jelly rolls”.  The bright red fabrics touch off the black and white fabrics beautifully, and this striking lap quilt will make a fabulous addition to your decor.

Here’s an Easter treat that is decorative, delicious, and filled with whatever you please. A hollow chocolate egg can hold jelly beans, chocolate eggs, marshmallow bunnies, or even money. You can even leave both sides of the egg in the molds while you fill them with fudge, and then assemble the egg once the fudge is set.

I finally got around to a project I’ve had pinned for years…a Spring Tulip Wreath diy! I’m so excited with how easy it was and honestly how quick it was to complete.  I friend of mine on Facebook recently completed her own wreath and that ended up being the final bit of inspiration I needed!

I’m a big snacker.  Lately, I’ve been trying to eat healthier snacks.  Sorry, Girl Scouts, but it’s true.  While I have a secret love affair with Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties, let me just tell you that I’d much rather be eating a plate of fresh veggies with some ranch dip.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Review and Swatches-The Classified Chic

I thought I start off the month with a contour kit review. I had been eyeing a few contour kits lately, as they are all the rage. There were so many to choose from, but I decided on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette. You’ve probably already heard of this kit, and their brow pomade. I own the brow pomade and absolutely love it!

Easter Egg Placemat Tutorial-Leaves and Stitches

I finished the Easter Egg placemats last weekend and I LOVE how they turned out. They were fairly easy to make so I’m sharing the patterns I used and a quick tutorial. There are so many different ways you could decorate these. If you’re looking for inspiration, kids’ coloring pages are a great place to start.

Real Life Horror: Superbugs-VASHTI QUIROZ-VEGA'S BLOG

I have written on this subject before. Read my article How Will The World End? I believe ‘Superbugs’ are a real threat and I have the Medical and Science communities to back me.

Leftover Mashed Potatoes Into Potato Cakes-~Taylor-Made Homestead~
Several weeks ago I found myself with an abundance of potatoes and realized there was no way RancherMan & I could eat them all before they went bad. I went into high-gear preservation mode & dehydrated many of them, but some of them went into the freezer. When I freeze potatoes I cook and mash them but add nothing else – no salt, pepper, milk or butter – just cooked mashed potatoes. I section them in sandwich bags into serving sizes & freeze them into individual bricks. To use them I’ll pull a brick of frozen mashed potatoes out of the freezer the night before and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator overnight. (The thawed mashed potatoes usually release quite a bit of water and that potato water is not wasted but poured into my weekly endless soup pot.)

Rainbow Rice: the easy way-Just Be Well
Our theme this month in our Homegrown Preschooler curriculum is rainbows and rhythm. We have been having a blast with all of our rainbow projects (mostly because rainbow is Zoey's favorite color). I've seen rainbow rice so many times, but it always looked so time intensive so I avoided making it.

OVERCOMING FEELINGS OF DOUBT AND DISCOURAGEMENT IN BUSINESS-Bliss and Faith
As a creative entrepreneur, I’ve experience each of these feelings at some point. I see plenty of other established creative entrepreneurs who appear to have it all together all the time. Especially in the perfect world of Instagram, full of pretty desktops, beautiful inspiration boards, and overall gorgeousness its so easy to feel like you just don’t make the cut. I’m sharing a few ways you can work through feeling these emotions, how to turn them into productivity, and how to guard yourself against them.

The Ultimate Vegan BLT-Strength and Sunshine
The Ultimate Vegan BLT that’s also gluten-free and soy-free. Smoky eggplant bacon, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a homemade tahini based mayo, sandwiched between two toasty pieces of your favorite bread. Lunchtime will never be boring again!

DIY Project: Tutorial for Succulent Garden in Egg Carton-Dagmar Bleasdale
Easter is just around the corner! I’ve been so busy that I haven’t decorated for it like I wanted to, but I made this miniature succulent garden with eggs shells and a recycled egg carton.

Delicious Brownie Bowls from Scratch!-Southern Krazed

Brownies are an all time favorite treat at my house. But, how about putting a little different spin on them? Instead of plain brownies, Brownie Bowls are fun and delicious! Brownie Bowls are also perfect for adding your favorite topping to. Add in a scoop of ice cream, bananas or any other topping you may like with brownies for a delicious treat. Oh, and don’t forget the sprinkles! Got to have sprinkles!! Brownie Bowls are perfect for birthday parties, school parties, dessert or just an everyday treat!

APPLE PIE TACOS RECIPE-A Spark of Creativity
I decided to fry up some Apple Pie Tacos and boy were they delicious. The sweet and savory sugar and cinnamon mixed with the crunch of the tortillas and apples will have this melting in your mouth. This is the most perfect dessert dish for parties, events, holidays, or just a cozy night in with your loved ones.

Brown Butter Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes-PinkWhen

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally ready for Spring. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy a good snow day, but with just a couple of weeks left until the start of Spring, I’m craving some foods that celebrate the season! With Easter right around the corner, I’ve been dabbling in all foods that celebrate the holiday. This recipe for brown butter twice baked sweet potatoes with goat’s cheese and avocado cream is just one of the many reasons to celebrate!

3 SURPRISING BEAUTY USES FOR COFFEE GROUNDS-My Beauty Box Review
We hear more and more reports these days of the benefits of coffee. In moderation, it actually has a few health advantages. Because it is loaded with antioxidants – and caffeine – it can also be great for the skin. Repurposed Bed Spring Craft Storage-DIY Inspired

Recently I posted a tour of my craft room. Believe it or not, I am running out of space for my stuff… I know… I’m crazy. My daughter outgrew her toddler bed and I wanted to repurposed her bed spring somehow. After thinking about it for a few days I ended up making Repurposed Bed Spring Craft Storage! Here’s how I did.
